Baby X by Lois Gould History & Setting Lois Gould (December 18, 1931 – May 29, 2002) was an American writer, known for her novels and other works about women's lives. She was born in Manhattan , In 1970 Lois Gould published her first novel, B ABY X, a tale of an "Xperiment" in gender-free child-raising. It first appeared in Ms . in 1972, and was expanded into an illustrated children's book in 1978. Character There are two main characters happened in the story. Mr. Joneses is a scientist who wanted to raise an X more than any other kind of baby. Baby X is no gender, it is a secret scientists Xperiment known officially as Project as baby X. Plot A baby is born to two parents who have agreed to keep its sex a secret, as part of a huge, very expensive scientific experiment. They are given a thick handbook to help them navigate future problems, from how to play with X to dealing with boys' and girls' bathrooms at school....
